- Health officials are responsible, for the precedent of James Jagger (Actor & son of Mick Jagger.) promoting smoking onstage. (First in London since the smoking ban.)
It is well documented, that the cause of cigarette addiction, is a result of psychological persuasion via actors smoking on screen and on stage. (The World Health Organisation forecast One Billion smoking deaths this century.- 1/6 the worlds population.)
Martin Harwood MP. asked the Health Secretary, Caroline Flint- “What recent assessment her department had made, regarding actors smoking on TV. and films, causing youngsters to start smoking.”?
On 14 March 2007 Caroline Flint answered- “That no recent assessment had been made, but acknowledged that, increased smoking rates, were caused by onscreen smoking.” (Actors Smoking.)
So why, did she have the smoking ban legislation, changed to exempt actors from smoking in public places*1 as manifested in the HEALTH ACT 2006, which states- “Actors can smoke if the artistic integrity of the performance makes it appropriate for them to smoke.”?
There's no integrity in enticing a billion children*2 into being robbed, mutilated and murdered by tobacco addiction. The appropriate action, is for the Attorney General (Defender of the public interest.) to immediately, acquire an injunction, to prohibit all onscreen and onstage smoking! *3 ( we are cursed with onscreen smoking, and the tobacco holocaust, via stupidity or corruption!)
The 2002 Tobacco Advertising and Promotion Act. according to the U.K.s top Judge Sir Igor Judge, fails to do what it was promised to do, *4 which was to protect children from tobacco promotions, (Actors Smoking.) yet this Act is referred to as, providing a comprehensive ban, on the promotion of cigarettes by Caroline Flint.

Caroline Flint: During last year's consultation on proposals for the Health Bill we received representations that particular theatrical performances and television/film recordings should be exempted from the smoke-free provisions of the Bill. We are minded to allow an exemption where smoking is an integral part of the storyline of a performance or recording. I wrote to the Theatrical Management Association and Equity along these lines on 18 April. A copy of these letters is available in the Library.

These facts prove that governments are more interested in tax incomes and economic gain than in the health of people in general.
Obviously it is crazy that actors are allowed to smoke on screen, when we know that smoking is a
slow form of committing suicide.
Smoking damages our health and is dangerously addictive. How can actors be allowed to set the wrong example? This is definitely influencing people to do the same.
This is confirmed by the eternal wisdom of the Vedic scriptures:
"Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standard he sets by exemplary acts, ll the world pursues." (Bhagavad-gita 3.21)
